22 October Orcalab reports:

No orcas present.

Good morning everyone! We heard the A12's in Blackfish Sound a couple of times during the night, and think they probably moved to the north as the tide changed to ebb around 9am. We are waiting, and meanwhile enjoying a quiet rainy morning after yesterday's storm.

Orcas near mics.

It sounds like the A12s have come back into Blackfish Sound.

Distant calls audible.

The A12s are still in Blackfish Sound just a bit further away from the hydrophone than before. The tide will turn to the flood around 3:30pm. This may encourage them back to the Strait.

No orcas present.

We've heard no calls since mid afternoon, when the A12s were at the "top" of Blackfish Sound. It's most likely they are somewhere to the north of Blackfish Sound, though we're not sure.
